First of all it must be relationship season or something.
1. My classmate from college just got engaged and I couldn't be more happier for her... Ok i'm a little jealous and I wish I had a guy to get engaged to.
BUT
I shouldn't be in a hurry to get married for several reasons.
1. I've never been in love
2. the thought of being a wife is scary to me ( then comes alot of responsibility with that I would think...)
3. considering the guys I tend to go for (douchebags) I don't want to marry one...
3. I just saw ghosts of girlfriends past... really cute movie but it was about relationship and marriage and manwhorism etc.
4. A friend ( who will remain unnamed) has been having man issues and myself as well and we have been discussing how we can deal with it and approach our problems the most logical way.
From all this I came up with of course a Pants related relationship analogy. It all stems from my one friend who said once " I wear the pants in this relationship" when she was dating this guy a while back.
So I came up with this analogy
Relationships are like sharing a big pair of pants. You get one leg and he/she gets the other and together you make those pants work as a whole. If it doesn't work the pants rip. Then no more pants and that just sucks...
Then I texted my other friend and I was like :
"you can always use it if you get in a fight with you boyfriend. Just say this:"
We share these pants, you just dont get those pants to yourself ... they're sharing pants.
I am far from being an expert on relationship but I thought this might get a laugh out of whoever reads this.

It's Thursday Today
I was the academy for an alum networking event. I knew a couple people there, and it was super fun talking to people I haven't seen since like High School. I could go into way more detail but I'll just leave it at that.
Um... What else is there?
I bought some songs on itunes.
Our laundry machine is broken, so we're getting a new on Saturday. What else... Yeah that's all I got.
Oh I'm going to the Zoo on Monday.
I'll have something interesting to talk about next time I guess.

Uhhh
1. I finally got an antihistimine for my hives. I got zyrtec ( my friend whos a doctor said it works great on hives). It really makes me tired...wow! I am struggling to stay awake right now.
2. I partied it up last night. I'm not sure if I can drink hardcore cider anymore...6 is too many. Don't smoke after having 6 and you feel queezy... BAD IDEA!!!
3. Slept on my buddy's couch, um had a killer allergy headache this morning, but i'm way better. This zyrtec is making me feel way more hung over than I am. I found my first backstreet boys CD. My mother stole it!
4. I need to stay awake!

IT ITCHES!
Apparently I am allergic to the left leg of my pants. I have hives all over my left leg. Or a bug got in there!

I figured out what it is....that's been bugging me
I feel trapped at home. I don't have the same freedom as I do at school. I can't just go out with my friends on a weekend and come back to my room on campus and then be hungover the next day.
I have to either borrow a car, or get a ride. Then my dad gets all pissy about alcohol comsumption. The list goes on.... I think the whole being graduated from college thing just hit me when I woke up this morning.
I have felt like crying all day this really sucks.
I think it's just a multitude of emotions and feeling ( mushy stuff) that I've been holding back and been in denile about is finally starting to hit me.
Then there's the job search which is a disaster in itself too. Plus watching a movie about weddings just not just kinda got me depressed about dating kind of stuff.

ANNOYED....
I can't begin to say how effing annoying my parents are about drinking. I could seriously write a novel. They just don't get that I like to party and yes I am safe about it, they DONT GET IT! I'M not the typical 'insert my last name here'. I don't have the stupid nerd gene.
I am so pissed off right now

Raspberry Parfait
So it all started I think maybe perhaps the last week of school. I was at the rink goofing off with my two friends. I was talking about the Prince song Raspberry beret. One friend said that one of our skating coaches use to think it was raspberry parfait. So then we decided to start singing raspberry parfait and we came up with the chorus as:
Raspberry parfait
bought it at a really cheap cafe
raspberry parfait
I think I love it
Now that i'm graduated I'm really bored. So I remembered how we were joking that we would end up re-writing all the lyrics to the song. Then I actually started doing it the other night and I was having a blast. Then I was like who has crazy song lyrics. Then I was like Weird Al Yankovic of course! Then I had the brilliant idea of re-writing the Prince song lyrics and then if I thought they were good ( after getting feedback from friends and peers of course) I would send them to him to see if he liked them.
But then I remembered the controversy he had with the song 'Amish Paradise' and the singer Coolio. So then I was like well if ti happened the parody was actually good they've have to talk to Prince and all. Then I was like maybe I should check out weird Al's site to see maybe if there was any info regarding which artist have said no to him making a parody of their songs. So I went to the FAQ section and there it was!
" Have any artists ever turned Al down for a parody?"
" Actually, the only artist to turn Al down consistently over the years has been the Artist Formerly Known As The Artist Formerly Known As Prince. Go figure." ( direct quote from the website itself, so I don't get in trouble)
There it was my short lived dream of writing a parody of a Prince song.... Shattered. I mean if Prince turned down Wierd Al there's no chance he'd like this parody either. Prince seems like a serious guy about his music, I wouldn't mess with him. He seems like he would totally stand up for himself if someone made fun of his music.
So while that idea is kind of down the drain, I guess I will have to start working on my Spanish practice in order to prepare for Guatemala.
In Other News
I'm excited for seeing my friends tomorrow for my Birthday, I know some can't come which is totally ok, Graduation is pretty important and I think that's a little more important that making it to my birthday. It's going to be a low key event no crazy drunken antics...I'm still a little partied out after Graduation...
I got my birthday present today, which I am happy with, I haven't opened it yet. It's an ipod nano ( the pink one!)
I got sleep last night! It was amazing. I might have slept a little long though, I got up at like 9:50. Taking two pills a day for my ADD seemed to work well, the 3rd is unnecessary considering my low brain use these days.
Oh and I'm super excited for Guatemala in July

I watched this super cool show!
So I taped this new documentary thing on TLC this last weekend and it's a brand new two part thing on the Since of Sex Appeal. It's brand new and they had so much freakingly great information. I DVRed it and I am so bored that I even took notes so I could make a great blog entry. So i'm not going into too much detail about this like the studies they did and stuff but I wanted to point out the things that I thought were the most interesting for me.
First of all they use to say that it was all in the eye of the beholder, which sometimes I totally think is true but after watching this I sorta can I guess see some other things to be true based on the scientific evidence presented in the show.
They talked about the ideal man and women for a bit which we can already guess what it is from the media... They found that there is actually alot of brain activity going on when people are looking at the human body. The figured out that the sexiest female body is that the waist should be 7/10ths as wide as the hip. They ran into the problem though that people wanted proportions that were actually unnatural and that the most attractive bodies are the extremes and the impossible. They also talked about how we judge a body based on how it moves. Men with manly swaggers and women with lots of hip movement are seen as more attractive. So what we need is a sexy strut!
They talked about how we tend to aim too high in a potential partner/mate and then we have to work our way down to someone who will accept us. ( well that's kinda depressing sorta)
Then they talked about our voices. So women tend to be attracted to men with lower more manly voices and men tend to be attracted to women with lady like voices. ( I always thought I had a low voice...well that sucks for me!)
They made this great point that women are pickier about a mate! They have more to risk. They risk a 9 month pregnancy and years of caring for kids, where as a guy can have a one night stand walk away and not have to do a thing. So that is one factor as to why women are picky. They then talked about how sometimes having alot of stuff ( like cars etc.) can change the way women see men in terms of attraction.
They got into this whole ovulation thing. They found that women's voices are actually different during ovulation than not. They are also seen as being more physically attractive when ovulating as well.
They even talked about fermones. Guys give off this smell but it's actually really musky and women are generally not attracted to it except during this one time in the fertility cycle. They even talked about how smell has alot to do with incest. They did an experiment of sweaty shirts and women had to smell them. She we repulsed by the sweaty shirt of her male relative ( she didn't know it was a relative) So they said that possibly back in the cave man days that humans relied more on smell and by smell they could pick out the potential mates they were not related to thus incest was kind of eliminated.
Women give off their own smell as well and that can be very empowering over men.
So Men give off an stink that repels all except those ovulating.
They went on to talk about other stuff, um then they talked how women's behavior can change mens testosterone levels and they go into the whole dopamine in the brain thing... etc. etc.
The last interesting bit was when they talked about monogamy and how in these monogomas prarie voles they found that those who stuck to one mate had higher levels of a chemical in the brain called 'vasopressin' and those who had numerous mates had low levels of the chemical. They found this in men too! So those manwhores out there are going to have low levels of this chemical and those who are faithful are going to have higher levels of it.
So over all i thought it was fascinating to watch this. So that's my interesting blog entry.
In other news, the big 22 is coming up, what else... oh nothing else.

It's wednesday it feels like Thursday
For some reason I feel like today is Thursday. Crazy!

Update on the Bedroom overhaul
I just cleaned my carpet. As in I vaccumed it yesterday then again today. Then we took the carpet cleaning machine, that thing is badass. I hate having pink carpet in my room. It's just gotten dirty over time, and well parts of it are really dirty. I swear you can see how much dirt has really been pushed into that carpet when it gets wet. I might get an area rug or something.
I also have to re-arrange my desk...again.
Then I have to Sort through two bins I brought back from school, along with a shit ton of papers.
I woke up today and the back of my my legs ( quads I think?) were killing me. So I lathered up in icy hot. Then I ran into a big speaker we have in the living room and i have a huge bruise on my thigh which I am icing. I seem to be bruising myself alot lately.
Anywho, We're letting the carpet in my room dry so i'm sitting at the dining room table ( where the wireless internet actually works. Hopefully the fan in there and the window open will let it dry quickly. Wait how did it become 2pm? I did get up kind of late...11:30 ..bad Annika.
Oops....this better not screw up my sleep pattern again.
My birthday appears to be coming up shortly...interesting.

In Mourning of my Wiener Whistle
I got an Oscar Mayer wiener whistle when she was a kid...she lost it...I cleaned the hell out of my bedroom this last week. I thought I might be lucky enough to find it. NO LUCK!
I really liked my little wiener whistle. It was so little and wiener-y
I still can't get sat/sun out of my head. I need to stop thinking about that! Ughhh it's slowly driving me insane.
I did however find my Gameboy from 6th or 7th grade.
I also found:
a picture in a frame of my senior class like the day before graduation or something
My collection and fancy collectors board for the 'first state quarters of the United States 1999-2008' or something like that
All my state speech medals
A shit ton of skating medals
My Hanson CD
ha ha
In other news I told my mom about my dress from Graduation, she wasn't mad. I was so glad. I didn't tell her where I was drunk and was laying down on the ground at a bonfire in it..... The dirt spots weren't too bad. They looked way worse on Sunday....

Grey's
So I'm watching the most recent Grey's anatomy episode. All I have to say is I am so glad that I did not watch this before Graduation. Basically it's the worst thing you want to have happen to you and your friends before College Graduation.
I just had a bunch of cheese and crackers. I feel kinda sick now.
In other news my bruises are fading and starting to go away.

I am about to Graduate from College
All I have to say is : WOW!
It's been 4 years I can't believe it! I am shocked!
I'm not going to dwell on the fact that I probably won't have my desired cumulative GPA after last semester, however within my major I do have that desired 3.0 Average. Thank God.
So I'm going into this with a positive attitude.
Wait I just did the math and if I did it right if I get a 3.5 or 4.0 in Small Group Communication I can boost my overall GPA up to where it should be. Had I not slacked off last semester and gotten 3.0's and above I bet my GPA would have gone up then where it had been. Anyways the thing is that I learned from my mistake and that I am proud that my hard work paid off this semester. We'll see what happens when I get my final grade in.
